From December 5 to 8, 2026, Fira Barcelona Gran Via once again becomes the national epicentre of otaku culture with Manga Barcelona 2026. Four days of manga, anime and Japanese culture bringing together thousands of fans from across the country. If you’re coming for the show, here’s what you need to know — and why Hotel Arc La Rambla is a great option for your stay.

32 Years Turning Barcelona into the Otaku Capital
Organised by Ficomic for more than three decades, Manga Barcelona reaches its 32nd edition in 2026 with news fans have been waiting for: the return of Junji Ito, master of horror manga, ten years after his first visit. Ito has also designed this year’s official poster, a colourful take on Park Güell quite different from his usual style. He’s joined by other big names, including Shoji Kawamori, creator of the Macross universe, and animator and character designer Risa Ebata.

Cosplay, Concerts and Signings: the 2026 Programme
The musical lineup adds Reol, one of Japan’s most influential current solo artists, rapper Lotus Juice and the band NIGHTMARE, behind the iconic Death Note opening theme, who will mark the anime’s 20th anniversary at the show. The programme combines cosplay contests, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, creator panels, signing sessions, Japanese food, video games and a large commercial zone dedicated to manga and pop culture. The Manga Barcelona Awards, recognising the best works published in Spain over the past year, are also handed out at the show.
Families and Fans: Where to Stay Close to the Fair
Fira Gran Via sits a bit outside the city centre, so it’s worth choosing well-connected accommodation. Hotel Arc La Rambla is a one-minute walk from Drassanes metro station (L3), with a direct, hassle-free connection to Plaça Espanya, where it links up with FGC trains towards Europa | Fira. And once the day is done, the Gothic Quarter, Port Vell and Las Ramblas are all a short walk from the hotel.
