The 5 best beaches in Barcelona

Barcelona is a city bathed by the Mediterranean, so its history has always been bound to the sea. Its intensive maritime and fishing activity made it one of the ports of reference along the entire coast of Spain. However, during the last 20 years the sands of the Condal City have been recovered by carrying out an important work to reform the Seafront Promenade and keeping the beaches in good condition in order to be able to swim and enjoy the sun with the family.

The city offers a variety of beaches of different sizes and public which are easily accessible by public transport or bicycle. Barceloneta is the most popular and owes its name to the traditional fishing district. It is recommended to take a stroll through its alleys and eat or dine on fish in one of the restaurants in the area.

Here at the Hotel Arc La Rambla we offer an exclusive beach package for our clients. Put on your bathing suit and take note of our selection of the best beaches in Barcelona.

San Sebastià beach

It is the oldest sandy beach in the city and owes its name to the old church of San Sebastià from the 18th century. It stands out for its sporting activities and its proximity to the centre of Barcelona. During the month of July, Barcelona City Council shows free films in the Cinema a la Fresca cycle.

 Forum  saltwater pool

This is a saltwater pool located in the park of the Forum. It is a bathing area without sand, so if you want to take a dip in family is a good option. It is accessible and with services.
