From 7 to 9 May 2027, Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue hosts Comic Barcelona, the International Comic Fair of Barcelona, in its 45th edition. Organised by FICOMIC, it’s the great celebration of comics in Spain: publishers, authors, exhibitions, signings, activities and a huge community of fans. It’s an event open to the public. If you’re going to visit, here’s what you need to know — and why Hotel Arc La Rambla makes a great base for your stay.

What is Comic Barcelona?
Comic Barcelona —the International Comic Fair of Barcelona— is the most important cultural event for comics in Spain, organised by FICOMIC. Each spring it gathers publishers, authors and thousands of fans at Montjuïc to celebrate the world of comics, illustration and pop culture.
More than a fair, it’s a great celebration of the ninth art: it combines a commercial area with the leading publishers, a museum-level exhibition area, meetings with authors, signing sessions, round tables, awards and all kinds of activities for every audience.
Who it’s for: comic and illustration fans, families, collectors and publishing professionals. It’s an event open to the general public, with a ticket.

Getting to Fira Montjuïc
The Montjuïc venue is next to Plaça d’Espanya, right in central Barcelona. It’s one of the city’s most central and accessible fair venues:
- Metro: the Espanya stop (lines L1 and L3) is next to the venue entrances.
- FGC and commuter trains: they also stop at Plaça d’Espanya.
- From the airport: El Prat is about 15 km away, with an easy public transport connection.
Being in the heart of the city, it’s very easy to combine the Saló visit with a walk around the centre. Go early: the fair’s weekends draw big crowds.
Tips for your visit
- Buy your ticket online: it speeds up entry and avoids queues, especially at the weekend.
- Check the signings programme: the most popular authors have set times and sometimes ticket allocations; plan ahead.
- Go early if you want it quieter: the first hours of the morning are the most comfortable.
- Bring cash and a sturdy bag: you’ll end up carrying comics and merchandise.
- Stay in the centre: with the fair at Montjuïc, a central, well-connected hotel makes life easy.
Why stay at Hotel Arc La Rambla during Comic Barcelona
For a fair at Montjuïc, the connection from Hotel Arc La Rambla (La Rambla 19-21, next to Drassanes, L3 metro) is hard to beat. Metro line 3 takes you directly, with no changes, from Drassanes to the Espanya stop, right by the venue entrance. You reach the Saló in a few minutes and with no hassle.
And when the day is over, you’re back in the historic centre just as fast: step off the metro at Drassanes and Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter and the harbour are steps away for dinner, carrying on with fellow fans or unwinding. Ideal too if you’re coming as a family.
