From 20 to 22 April 2027, Fira Barcelona Gran Via hosts Seafood Expo Global & Seafood Processing Global, the world’s largest seafood trade event. Organised by Diversified Communications, it brings together suppliers of seafood, processing technology and services with buyers from across the supply chain. It’s a strictly professional event, with entry by registration. If you’re coming for the fair, here’s what you need to know — and why Hotel Arc La Rambla makes a great base for your stay.

What is Seafood Expo Global?
Seafood Expo Global & Seafood Processing Global is the world’s largest seafood trade event and the great annual meeting point for the whole fishing and aquaculture industry. It brings together under one roof the offering of fish and shellfish (Seafood Expo Global) and that of processing machinery, technology and services (Seafood Processing Global).
It’s an eminently commercial platform: the place where suppliers from around the world meet buyers from distribution, foodservice, industry and retail. After years in Brussels, the event is now based in Barcelona, confirming the city as the sector’s world capital.
Who it’s for: buyers, importers and exporters, distributors, foodservice and retail chains, and technology and service companies in the sector. It’s a professional-only event.

Getting to Fira Barcelona Gran Via
The Gran Via venue is in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, very well connected to central Barcelona:
- Metro: line L9 Sud has several stops at the venue (Fira, Europa|Fira); the L8 connects from Plaça d’Espanya. The most direct option.
- FGC: the trains stop at Europa|Fira, next to the entrances.
- From the airport: L9 Sud connects El Prat directly with the Fira in about 15-20 minutes.
The Gran Via venue is very large: check your accreditation for the hall and access point to head straight to your area of interest.
Tips for attendees
- Register in advance: it speeds up entry and secures your place in limited-capacity conferences.
- Plan your agenda: with thousands of exhibitors, identifying who you want to see ahead of time makes all the difference.
- Set up meetings in advance: it’s a business event; appointments with suppliers and buyers are arranged beforehand.
- Book accommodation early: April is a busy fair month in Barcelona and this is one of the most crowded events.
- Stay in the centre: ending the day away from the venue, in the heart of the city, is welcome.
Why stay at Hotel Arc La Rambla during Seafood Expo Global
For a fair at Gran Via, Hotel Arc La Rambla (La Rambla 19-21, next to Drassanes, L3 metro) combines an unbeatable central location with an easy connection to the venue. From Drassanes, the L3 takes you with no changes to Plaça d’Espanya, the major connection hub for the Fira, where you link up with the lines running directly to Gran Via.
After an intense day of meetings and networking, you return to the historic centre: step off the metro at Drassanes and Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter and the harbour are steps away for dinner —what better than fresh seafood by the Mediterranean— or simply unwinding.
