Barcelona is known as a great destination for its architecture, art and beaches. But now we can leave topics and say that Barcelona is perfect city for chocolate lovers as well. During this summer and until the 15th of September the Chocolate Museums is open for you.
The Chocolate Museum is located in “El Born” the most popular and alternative neighborhood of Barcelona, exactly in Carrer Comerç, 33. The museum is open from 10.00 am to 08.00 pm. It’s located in the former Sant Agustí monastery, an historic building which is extremely linked with chocolate: in the 18th century the Bourbon army was a fanatical consumer of chocolate and chocolate was present on the menus of the 18th-century military academies.
The museum provides a journey to the 15th century and it shows the evolution and the role of chocolate in the economical and social life of Barcelona. The museum presents the origins of chocolate, how it arrived to Europe and the facts that go around the delicious and sweet chocolate. This museum is a really interesting activity such for adults as for children. And we highly recommend it to you. Everyone love chocolate!
