We present you the best breweries to enjoy Barcelona in summer and cool off the sweltering summer heat.
Ale&Hop (C/Basses de Sant Pere, 10. Zona: Born)
Ale&Hop has ten rotating beer taps and a breaking menu of beers to combine nicely with a careful selection of veggie food (cooked with products from its own organic garden).
This craft beer temple is an exciting combination which lets you enjoy in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, where every little detail has been taken care of.
The ecological menus from Thursday to Sunday & the brunch on the weekends complete the offer of this brewery located in El Born, the trendy neighborhood of Barcelona.
Racó d’en Cesc (C/Diputació, 201 Zona: Eixample )
Just a few bars can boast to have their own brand of beer. El Raco d’en Cesc has one: “Cesc 25 anys”, with which the sommelier Edgar Rodriguez and the chef Toni Romero commemorate the anniversary of one of the main brewery of the city.
Besides offering a wide variety of dishes paired with different craft beers El Raco d’en Cesc have an exclusive beer cellar where they take care of beers with the same care as if it was one the best wines.
Mingus (C/d’Atalüf, 6 Zona: Gótico )
Located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, its wood decoration is based on the skateboarder culture and it creates a special charm. The bar has eight beer taps which change depending on the freshness of the beers and the demand for each brand.
In addition to have an extensive beer list, so large that it will be difficult to choose, the Mingus offers good quality wines and tasty tapas, such as meatballs and potato salad, that would drive crazy the pickiest eater.
La Cerveteca (C/d’En Gignàs, 25. Zona: Barrio Gótico)
This is one of the pioneers in offering craft beer in Barcelona, which in its nearly 15 years of history has maintained its success. La Cerveteca is not just a place where you can taste beers from almost all over the world, but it is also a shop and a meeting place where you can enjoy tastings, pairings and workshops around the beer culture.
2D2Dspuma (C/ Manigua, 8. Zona: Congrés-Sant Andreu)
The space is divided into a store, where you can find a wide variety of local and international beers (it has about a thousand beer labels) and a bar, with nine rotating taps. In addition, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays they offer tapas at popular prices with a special pairing.
Homo Sibaris (Plaça d’Osca, 3. Zona: Sants)
This is the heart of the craft beer culture in the Sants district. Besides having a catalog of local and international beers within reach of few, they brew their own beer, with a surprising and refreshing taste that can also be bought in their store.
To go with the beer and enhance their flavor, they offer a wide variety of delicious tapas, cheeses and cold meat. For the Beer lovers, they also organize tasting courses and beer pairing.
Cervesera artesana (C/ Sant Agustí, 14. Zona: Gràcia)
Another classic of Barcelona’s breweries, the bar exudes tradition on all four sides. Besides serving a wide range of imported beers, they produce their own craft beers. The owners will explain you in situ the whole process of preparing its exquisite brews, with special touches of mushrooms, honey or different spices.
Biercab (C/Muntaner 55. Zona: Eixample)
The Biercab is an earthly paradise for the malt beverage lovers. With the incredible number of 30 beers taps serving beers simultaneously from almost all parts of the world (it’s the bar with more shooters in Spain).
It also has a culinary offer inspired by the best international gastronomy and a shop with more than 300 beer labels where the main protagonist is the factory Napier (Catalan company whose owners also own the local).
The Black Lion (Evarist Arnús, 70. Zona: Les Corts)
We close our tour with The Black Lion, which is said to be the oldest pub in Barcelona, with nearly five decades of history. A British-styled Pub which has more than 50 varieties of beer with different flavors, colors and aromas. On match days it also becomes a meeting point for football fans, thanks to its magnificent screens.
