Do you know Sant Pau Hospital Building? It nestles in Carrer Sant Quintí 89, close to Sagrada Familia. After four years of restoration, it has opened the doors one month ago. Till 16th March, you could visit the biggest modernist architectural complex of Europe for free, from 11.00 to 18.00 h. Then, the ticket will cost 8€, except residents of the city who have the opportunity visit it free of charge, so don’t miss your opportunity!
Hospital Sant Pau building was constructed between 1902 and 1930, and declared World Heritage in 1997. It is the masterpiece of Lluís Domènech i Montaner, and has 145.500 square metres.
It is worth the effort visiting this emblematic building, away from its original function of health related assistance. Nowadays, it is the international organization headquarters of: the United Nations University (UNU), World Health Organization (WHO), the European Forest Institute (EFI), the Asia Home, Network World Water Operators (GWOPA), the Resilient Cities Programme of UN-Habitat and the Global University Network for Global Innovation (GUNI). Moreover, it has reserved an area for celebrating events, meetings, and a shop and restaurant.
