Yogurt Cake!

Today we decided to share with you the classical receipt of the Catalan culinary! Coca de Iogurt; Yogurt Cake! This receipt is maybe one of the easiest and fastest cakes to do. All Catalan people learn the receipt in their youngest ages!

What we need?

–          220 g of sugar

–          180 g of flour

–          3 eggs

–          1 yogurt

–          1 packet of baking powder

–          1 grated lemon peel

–          a dash of anise

–          oil

VARIATIONS:

– You can add some nuts to the pasta or put it over before baking in the oven.

– Instead of yogurt it can be done with curd.

– You can add marmalade, chocolate or apple before you bake it in the oven.

How we do it? 

Prepare all the ingredients. Firstly pour the flour, the eggs, the sugar and the packed of baking powder, the yogurt and a good splash of olive oil in a bowl. Stir all the ingredients that we have in the bowl until it gets in a uniform mass. After we get the uniform mass, put a zest of a lemon peel, and a dash of anise to achieve more flavour, and continue stirring.

When you see that all the ingredients are well stirred, you can  put baking paper in the baking tray or spread with butter the edges, as you prefer.  Pour into the baking tray the mix that you had and add the variation that you like the best. Put it to the oven and let it stay 30-40 minutes in 170-180º.  You will understand that it’s baked with a simple test, you can prick it with a toothpick, and if the toothpick is clean, the cake is ready!
